Um tribunal francês condenou o ciclista Riccardo Riccò a uma prisão de dois meses, além de pagar uma multa de 3.000 euros, por conta do doping no Tour de France 2008.
Riccò foi suspenso do Tour há dois anos após testar positivo em exame realizado na quarta etapa da competição por uso de EPO CERA. Na sequência, acabou demitido pela equipe Saunier Duval e foi banido do ciclismo por 20 meses.
O Tribunal rejeitou o pedido dos advogados do ciclista, já que ele pagará uma multa de 5.710 euros para o tribunal italiano em fevereiro.
Ainda em 2008, Riccò foi preso pela polícia francesa após investigadores descobrirem drogas e seringas em meio a sua bagagem.
