Cerca de 35 mil participantes são esperados para a Maratona de Nova York, que será realizada no dia 4 de novembro e entre eles estará um dos maiores nomes do ciclismo. Lance Armstrong, sete vezes vencedor da Volta da França, anunciou que fará a sua segunda maratona, a primeira foi a de Nova York em 2006.
O atleta afirmou que a preparação para esse ano foi melhor e que a estimativa é completar os 42 km abaixo de três horas, já que no ano passado ele concluiu a prova em 2h59min36s e confessou que foi um dos maiores desafios da sua vida. Dessa vez, a expectativa é melhor, pois Armstrong declarou que têm treinado corrida quase diariamente.
