A tradicional Maratona de Lake Biwa, no Japão, teve sua 66ª edição no último domingo, dia 6 de março. Na disputa pelas primeiras colocações, apesar da presença do campeão de 2009 da Maratona de Boston, o etíope Deriba Merga, quem levou a melhor foi o queniano Wilson Kipsang, que estabeleceu o recorde da prova, com 2h06min13s.
“Eu me senti bem nos últimos três quilômetros, me senti forte e acreditei em mim mesmo. Espero bater o recorde mundial no futuro”, falou o vencedor. Mega cruzou a linha de chegada com 2h09min13s, seguido pelo japonês Hiroyuki Horibata, com 2h09min25s.
