Prestes a cruzar a linha de chegada dos 42 km da Maratona de Chicago no último domingo, 9 de outubro, a norte-americana Amber Miller, de 27 anos, começou a sentir que estava chegando a hora de dar a luz à sua filha June Audra. Grávida de nove meses, Amber decidiu que ia correr a prova, já que havia obtido permissão de seu médico. Ela concluiu a prova em 6h25, entre corrida e caminhada, e partiu para o hospital – não sem antes parar para tomar um lanchinho e se hidratar bem. A pequena, aliás, demorou cerca de sete horas para nascer. “A corrida foi definitivamente mais fácil que o parto”, disse Amber, que já correu oito maratonas ao longo de sua vida de atleta.
