Mais um caso de doping envolvendo um atleta austríaco foi revelado. De acordo com o jornal austríaco Kurier, o ex-ciclista Georg Totschnig poderia ter se dopado através de transfusão sanguínea antes de vencer a 14ª etapa do Tour de France 2005.
Totschnig, que se aposentou um ano depois do feito, desmentiu a acusação, embora o periódico assegure conhecer o local onde estavam as bolsas de sangue.
Caso as informações estejam corretas, o ex-ciclista não poderá ser castigado pela lei de seu país, já que sua contravenção seria anterior à nova lei antidoping de 2008.
