Com exatos 181 kg (400 libras), o lutador de sumô norte-americano Kelly Gneiting entrou neste domingo (20) para o Livro dos Recordes como homem mais pesado a concluir uma maratona. O “Gordo”, como ele mesmo se intitula, cruzou a linha de chegada da Maratona de Los Angeles em 9h48min42s e dois quilos mais magro.
“Eu estava realmente lutando nos últimos cinco quilômetros”, falou, “mas eu disse a mim mesmo: `Se eu tiver que rastejar, eu vou´”, completou Gneiting, que superou facilmente sua marca anterior do Guiness, quando, pesando 124 quilos, terminou os 42 km em 11h52min11s.
